Do you ever wonder when, as humans, we felt the need to classify the type of dietary patterns were eating? ⁣
⁣
I mean, I can’t imagine a cave person walking around with their friend saying, “so I’ve started this great new way of eating, I’m calling it the paleo diet”. ⁣
⁣
But today, I feel like you know the dietary habits of a person before you know their middle name. ⁣
⁣
I’m all about the “-ish” diet. Plant based-ish, paleo-ish, etc. You get the point. At the end of the day, your dietary pattern doesn’t define you. Find what works best for you and your body, and go with that, but don’t let it become the entire part of who you are - you are so much more than the dietary lifestyle you follow.⁣

Does anyone else love the fact that we’re starting a new month on a Monday?! I definitely do! ⁣

This months seasonal foods list is still a little small (hello cold, winter months) but there are still so many gems on it! 🍠🧄⁣

Three wellness tips that I practice everyday:⁣
⁣
1) Drink at least 1 full glass of water before your morning coffee or tea - throughout the night your body gets dehydrated! So, before we jump into our caffeine fix for the day, give your body some hydration! ⁣
2) Plan your meals around your vegetable/fruit component, and then pick a protein and whole grain source to accompany it - this is usually backwards as to how society today plans their meals, but as a lot of us are under consuming vegetables and fruit, it’s a great way to boost up our intake.⁣
3) Move your body 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 throughout the day - of course, that golden recommendation of 30 minutes of exercise is suggested too, but studies have shown that if we sit for the other 23.5 hours of the day, we can still do some “damage” to our body. So, stand up and stretch, walk up and down your hall, chase your dog around your house - whatever it is, just move more!⁣
